On March 1, 1893, Judge Edwin J. Blandin and William Lowe Rice founded a new law firm in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. More than a century later, Jones Day has evolved into one of the most recognized law firms - a truly global Firm of more than 2,400 lawyers in 40 offices around the world. As our clients transformed from local companies to national and then global enterprises, the Firm has grown with them to meet their changing needs. Jones Day does not have an official headquarters, and the Firm is based in every market where we serve clients. Serving clients as One Firm Worldwide means that client needs determine which lawyers, practices, and offices are involved in any given client matter, based on the best interests of that client. Our current Managing Partner is resident in Washington DC.

There are approximately 1,700 lawyers in the U.S., 150 in Asia, 90 in Australia, 600 in Europe, 55 in Latin America, and 20 in the Middle East.

Jones Day has more than 2,400 lawyers, approximately 1,000 partners.

All Jones Day partners are partners.
