Augmented Reality and SecondLife

I love this. SecondLife as a real time layer over the physical environment that you view through a set of custom steam goggles. Well, no steam really but it’s not finished yet. It’s also got a slightly unfortunate project name at the Uni where they’re developing it: arsecondlife. God I’m a child.

Our dumb world

Our dumb worldOur dumb world is a nice Google Maps mashup, also available as a Google Earth layer, from The Onion. Lots of useful information for the residents of Americashire about the other countries of the world (oh yes, there are other countries).

For example, did you know that 70% of the population of Hungary are employed in the porn industry? The other 30% just like to watch. Germany has been genocide-free since April 1946. The Ukraine leads the world in the harvesting of wivestock, posting over a million tons of brides overseas every year.
